Before all the festivities begin, I thought I'd post a picture of a simple yet festive dessert I made for my daughter's kindergarten party last week.
First, wet a piece of paper towel/towel and lay it over 24 big pretzels. This will make the pretzels soft and cuttable (is cuttable even a word???)
Second, make a batch of your favorite cupcakes. I made the ones here minus the frosting.
This photo is courtesy of my 5 yr old :o)
Third, time to frost! Make a batch of your favorite chocolate frosting. Imperial Sugar makes a Gourmet Chocolate frosting that tastes yummy so I bought a box of that. It's very simple to make and one box will frost 24+ cupcakes.
Fourth, decorate! I used black M&M's as Rudy's eyes and red ones as his nose. Then I cut the slightly damp pretzels in half and stuck those in as antlers. These cupcakes were a big hit with the kids!
Merry Christmas! Enjoy yourself and your time with your loved ones.
