Today is finally the day I got my Valen... I mean Tuesday garland started and finished! I stole the idea from my friend Andrea's house because I thought it was so cute.
This is what you'll need:
Felt (all one color or colors of your choice)
Scissors
Heart cookie cutter or stencil
Sewing machine
Trace and cut your hearts. I made 34.. Well, I confess that at first I made 24 but since it barely reached from one end of my fireplace to the other, I added 10 more. Something to think about: The length of your garland has a lot to do with the length of your hearts ;o)
Sew through the middle of the heart and insert the next one without cutting your thread. This way they'll be connected.
This took me about 5 minutes plus another 10 to make the addition. Mind you, I had a distraction who kept calling MOMMY every few seconds or so. Apparently I failed to go admire the painting job he had done on our porch! (Just play paint of course although with this child you never know.)
If you look at the end of the garland, you'll see the 5 red hearts I added to give it more length. I ran out of white but had plenty of red so I added 5 additional red hearts at both ends.
